Why support LAMB?

LAMB works in one of the poorest areas of Bangladesh for people least able to care for themselves.  Two thirds of LAMB Inpatients need and receive subsidies for their bills, and one fifth cannot pay anything at all.

  • LAMB aims to be self-sufficient. Approximately 85% of our operating costs are covered by earned income

  • We are run with integrity, audited both nationally and by overseas organisations.

  • As a Christian organisation, we seek to model the example set by Jesus, to treat people with love, respect, compassion, and forgiveness

  • Half the staff are of other religions, as are more than 90% of the patients

How can you support LAMB?

Work for LAMB

We have a continual need for long-term and short-term roles with a wide variety of skills. In particular medical and teaching skills are needed, but there is a whole variety of support roles available too.

Working at LAMB is fulfilling and unique. We are based in a beautiful part of the country where many visitors enjoy the surrounding gardens and rice paddy fields. With high quality medical standards and friendly, welcoming staff it is an honour to serve the poor and work closely with surrounding communities.

In long-term volunteer roles - more than 1 year -  we currently only accept Christian professionals who go through an intensive application process.

For short-term volunteers – 6 weeks to 1 year – the majority of volunteers are Christian, but this is not essential.  LAMB relies on volunteers and missionaries to bring expertise and best practice standards.

Support us financially

LAMB earns about 85% of its running costs, which leaves 15% dependent on donations. We have to raise around US$300,000 every year, including $150,000 to subsidise medical fees for the poorest patients.

We are so fortunate to have generous supporters from around the world, including individuals, churches and other organisations. But we are always looking for more support to keep delivering the best possible health care to as many people in need as possible.

Pray for us

LAMB is a Christian organisation, and we believe that prayer focuses our attention on God as the sustainer of our work and provider for all our needs.  It is a great encouragement and support for staff at LAMB to know that people around the world are praying for us.
