Medical Staff

Currently we have 28 national and long-term international volunteer doctors and the number of nursing staff is approximately 75. The doctor to nurse ratio follows the WHO standard of 1 doctor to 3 nurses.

LAMB is fortunate to be supported by short term and visiting International doctors. Short-term and visiting doctors are invaluable to LAMB, as they:

  • stand-in for staff on leave or extended training

  • carry out specific campaigns, such as Fistula surgery

  • provide training to staff for new and improved techniques, or refresher training

LAMB is recognised within Bangladesh as providing excellent training for junior doctors. We offer theoretical and practical postgraduate training in Medicine, Pediatrics and Obstetrics & Gynecology. Our doctors can gain a lot of practical experience due to the large number of patients with opportunity for hands-on experience.  Experienced expatriate doctors support a high quality and affordable care.

LAMB consultants are involved in national associations and research at LAMB, advocating for high quality care in a low resource setting.
