Nurasta is a 14 years old adolescent with quadriplegic CP.She first came at LAMB rehabilitation centre 8 years ago.At that time she was unable to standing & walk properly and all her limbs were very tight.
She took intensive exercise and some assistive devices which helped her to stand & walk. She is continuing her study in a general school & she is student of grade ten. LAMB has provided her a tailoring machine for 1000 (one thousand) taka only after provided tailoring training. She is earning money 300-400/month from her tailoring work. She is very happy. Her family is very happy too for her efforts.
Popy is a 9 year old girl with CP quadriplegia and generalized malnutrition.She first attended the rehabilitation centre at the age of 4 years and at that time was only able to lie flat on the floor. She received exercises and specialist seating from LAMB and slowly learned to sit well within the first year of treatment. The family has received much advice about care and nutrition and she now uses a standing frame at home. Her grandmother took her to school on LAMB advice but had to carry her every day. LAMB provided a made to measure wheelchair made locally to enable Popy to get to school as she grew larger. She now is mobile with the support of her grandmother. She can sit independently and dress independently and is in the correct school year for her age. Now she and the family are very happy with her development and integration into society and can see a future ahead for her life.
