We received very good news regarding the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons approving LAMB as a training hospital for doctors pursuing obstetrics-gynecology. The Fellow of the College of Physicians and Surgeons (FCPS) is a specialty training qualification requiring both approved clinical training as well as passing written and viva exams. The FCPS certification had come in 2015 for the Pediatric and Medicine departments, and was granted this year (2019) for Ob-Gyn.
Before the most recent application, LAMB senior doctors have been able to build relationships within the OGSB (Obstetrics and Gynecology Society of Bangladesh). LAMB Hospital has become known for having low caesarean rates and for training in comprehensive obstetric care. Last year we were involved in a CME with OGSB in Rangpur and this year another OGSB Professor would like to come and run an emergency obstetric workshop for postgraduate trainees at LAMB. We are glad to contribute to improving medical care for women as we further the career paths for our Bangladeshi doctors.
